Jakarta School Buses Alerted to Serve Commuters from Bodetabek

The Jakarta Provincial Government has provided free school buses services in an effort to serve residents to get to their workplaces during the transitional large-scale social restrictions (PSBB). Thus far they have managed to serve 935 commuters from the capital's buffer zone.

Most passengers departed from Bogor Station with 339 passengers

According to Ali Murthadho, Head of Jakarta School Transportation Management (UPAS), on the first day, Monday (6/15), as many as 564 commuters had enjoyed the bus at a number of train stations, including Bogor Station, Cilebut Station, Bojonggede Station and Depok Baru Station in West Java.

His party sent 50 buses in those four stations with the final destination of five stations in Jakarta namely Tebet Station, Manggarai Station, Sudirman Station, Tanah Abang Station and Juanda Station.

"Most passengers departed from Bogor Station with 339 passengers, followed by Bojonggede Station with 136 passengers, Cilebut Station with 72 passengers and Depok Baru Station with 17 passengers," he expressed, Tuesday (6/17).

On Friday (6/12), he added, as many as 50 buses were alerted at five stations in Jakarta to reach several destinations in the satellite cities (Bodetabek).

"Those five stations are Juanda Station, Sudirman Station, Tanah Abang Station, Manggarai Station and Tebet Station," he explained.

He continued it is done to anticipate long lines for the commuter line during the transition phase.

"Based on our data, 371 passengers have enjoyed the bus heading to Baranangsiang Terminal, Depok Terminal, Bekasi Terminal, Cikarang Terminal and BSD Modern Market," he told.

Then the most passengers are departed rom Tebet Station with 115 passengers and Tanah Abang Station with 78 passengers heading to Depok and Bogor dominated.

"Based on the facts on the ground, school buses are invaded by passengers. Besides being free, there are also those who want to feel comfortable using this school bus," he stated.
